Miyakejima: 1,329 people
For 255 years from 1615 to 1870
Niijima: 1,333 people
For 203 years from 1668 to 1871
Hachijojima: 1,877 people

For Izu Oshima, Toshima, Kozushima, and Mikurajima, the numbers are unknown because the "Exile Registers" have not been preserved. It is assumed that there were about 100 people on Izu Oshima based on old records, and that there were always several to 7-8 exiles on the other islands.
In 1796, the four islands of Izu Oshima, Toshima, Kozushima, and Mikurajima were removed from the list of places of exile.
